Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has unveiled the winner of local MP Robert Halfon’s annual Christmas Card Competition. Mr Halfon met the Prime Minister in the House of Commons to present the winning design of the competition.
Commenting on the competition and the winning designs, Mr Halfon said, “I received over 150 wonderful entries this year, all featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer somewhere in Harlow and the villages. It was incredibly difficult to narrow it down to just one winner and four runners up - all of which would be featured in my Christmas card this year.
“I am delighted to announce that Molly, aged 13, from Sir Frederick Gibberd College has been crowned the overall winner, taking pride of place on the front of my Christmas cards. Molly’s design featured Rudolph and his friends at Pets Corner in the Town Park. Congratulations to Molly!
“I must also congratulate Ella, aged 6, from Milwards Primary; Ivy, aged 9, from Hare Street Primary; and Emily, aged 12, and Sofia, aged 11, from Burnt Mill Academy who are this year’s runners up. Their fabulous designs are on the inside cover of my Christmas card this year.
“I would like to thank everybody who submitted a design to this year’s competition, including all of the parents, grandparents and teachers who helped the children. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish everybody in Harlow a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year 2023.”
