Like residents across Harlow, and the nation, I am truly devastated by the news that Her Majesty the Queen has passed away. It is hard to believe that only a few weeks ago we were celebrating Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.
She has been the Mother of the Nation for so long.
Great Britain will never be the same again. So many generations have been brought up with the Queen so central to their lives.
The Queen lived a remarkable life and represented the very best of British values - hope, wisdom, and faith and service.
She oversaw times of great upheaval since her coronation, and worked with fifteen Prime Ministers over the course of her reign to tackle challenges both at home, and abroad.
Regardless of the changing world around us, she was a beacon of continued stability and strength to her people here in the UK and throughout the Commonwealth.
She has been the Mother of the Nation for over seventy years and my thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this difficult time. May she rest in peace.
