Two Harlow schools are set to receive funding for major building upgrades following a continued campaign by Robert Halfon MP to secure further investment into Harlow’s schools.
Passmores Academy and Purford Green Primary School will see the investment from the Condition Improvement Fund, which comes as part of a £498 million announcement from the Government.
The additional funding will build on the £23 million already invested into Harlow Schools since 2015 through the Condition Improvement Fund Government project, an initiative committed to keeping eligible academy, sixth-form college and voluntary aided school buildings safe and in good working order
Robert Halfon MP has been a long-term campaigner for investment in schools and education in Harlow. Mr. Halfon has welcomed today’s news by saying “As MP for Harlow and Chair of the Education Committee, I work tirelessly to secure sufficient funding for our schools and commitment to a long-term plan for education.
“Therefore, today’s news of further capital to upgrade, expand and refurbish Passmores Academy and Putford Green Primary School in Harlow is hugely welcome for children and their families, teachers and support staff in Harlow. It will also ensure that every child has a chance to climb the ladder of opportunity.
“I look forward to seeing the completed projects!”
