Every child in Harlow should be able to access a high quality education, regardless of their background or special educational needs.
That’s why I welcome Essex County Council’s commitment to invest and improve support for children and young people with special educational needs in Harlow.
Through over £200 million high needs funding from the Government and £6 million ring-fenced funding for SEND services, Essex County Council is driving improvements across the board.
This funding will see further capital investment for new provision at Harlow Fields School and College as well as the new Greenwell School in Harlow for children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is fantastic news and I welcome this funding; however, I have very high aspirations for education in Harlow and I will continue to champion education, skills and apprenticeships in our town to ensure that everybody can climb the ladder of opportunity.
