Our wonderful local charity, St Clare Hospice, is planning a number of events between now and the Summer to support grieving families in Harlow and to extend the vital work of the Hospice to those who need it.
The annual St Clare 10K Run will take place on Sunday 2nd April 2023, starting at 10.30am from the Hospice site in Hastingwood. Hundreds of participants will join the run to raise money for the Hospice. Entry is open to anyone with wheelchair racers also encouraged to take part. Entry is £17 for non-affiliated runners and £15 for affiliated runners. You can book a place online at stclarehospice.org.uk/st-clare-10k
St Clare Hospice is a lifeline to so many families in Harlow and the villages and they are mostly funded by donations. The St Clare Hospice Charity Shops are a key source of funds and are in urgent need of good quality clothing, shoes, bags and accessories, furniture, games, toys and CDs and DVDs. To donate, visit your local St Clare Hospice shop. Find your closest shop by visiting stclarehospice.org.uk/shops
The Hospice is also looking for more volunteers to help support the vital work they do across Harlow. It doesn’t matter what your skill-set is, or how much time you have - if you can support them through volunteering, they will find the right role to suit you! For information about joining their team, please visit stclarehospice.org.uk or get in touch directly with the Hospice team on 01279 773750 or [email protected]
If you can’t commit to a regular voluntary role with the Hospice, why not consider hosting a fundraising Coffe, Cake and Care event this Spring. Host your own cake-based fundraiser, and raise a cuppa whilst raising vital funds for your local hospice. For more information and to get your own free Coffee, Cake and Care fundraising kit, get in touch with the fundraising team on 01279 773750 or email [email protected]
In addition to the services provided at the Hospice, local residents can also benefit from Griefline (01279 945089), which is free phone service run by St Clare Hospice to access support and advice following a bereavement. Anyone who has experienced a loss, whether recently or in the past, is welcome to call GriefLine. No previous connection to St Clare Hospice is required to access support. GriefLine is free to call, though charges may apply in line with your standard network rate.
